If they make me install Windows at work I'm going to live in the Ubuntu Windows Store app in the terminal.

Spectrum outage. It's ridiculous that a single fiber optic line getting messed up can bring down their operations this badly. Waiting for their automated system to call me back, so at least that's cool. Until then I guess I read a book or something...

The folks doing Drunk History are going to have a god damn field day when the episode about today comes up.

Good morning, everyone! I hope you had a good weekend.

Imagine if you could see someone typing out a Toot... Probably a bad idea.

From HN discussion - "This is why I use ad blockers and a pi-hole server" (

This is GDPR in action. Wow.

I could make the argument that a policy to not allow your Windows 10 users to set their own time or more importantly to receive automatic time updates from a trusted central source (that is actually updated and correct) is less secure than locking them out of adjusting the time on their machine.

And how might you ask? Well, I know for a fact that TOTP wont work properly for my password manager if the time is off on my Windows 10 machine. So there is that.

It'll be Y2K all over again. And we all know what a close call that was.

Happy Friday everyone! Let's get it done!

Happy New Years everyone! I hope you had a good year, and I hope the next one is great!

Used Arch for long time with lots of research of polybar, i3 and WM etc. But it is so easy - just install Gnome (java) extension Shelltile and you get the same function without 100 hours of learning and hussle.

It's so ridiculously refreshing to not read a blog post on Medium. It's a testament to humanity that people still host this information on their own servers perhaps years after it is no longer relevant to them, and anyone, anywhere, can access it, read it, learn, and pay it forward. Medium is a (para)site on the Internet.
